Who we are

Dovetail (https://dovetaildesigner.com) is a design platform for cabinet dealers, operated by 3 Sons Cabinets (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Dealers use Dovetail to design kitchens, baths, and built-ins, and to share finished designs with their customers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version

• We never sell, rent, trade, or give away dealer or customer information. Period.
• We do not track your activity on other websites.
• We do not use third-party tracking or analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and we do not use advertising pixels.
• We do keep track of the actions dealers take within Dovetail itself, and we use that information for one purpose: improving our services.

Information we collect

Dealer account information. When a dealer signs up, we collect information such as name, email address, phone number, and business details. This is what we need to create and manage your account.

Customer information entered by dealers. Dealers may enter information about their customers — such as names, contact details, and project addresses — to organize their design projects. We store this information on the dealer’s behalf and use it only to provide the service. Each dealer’s data is kept isolated from every other dealer’s.

Project and design data. The rooms, layouts, product selections, and related details that make up the designs created on the platform.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

Usage information. We record the actions dealers take within Dovetail — for example, which features are used and how designs are created. This is first-party information collected by our own platform, and we use it to understand how Dovetail is used so we can improve it.

Support communications. If you contact us for help, we keep the correspondence so we can assist you.

How we use information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Dovetail platform
• To handle billing and account management
• To send transactional emails, such as account notices and shared-design notifications
• To respond to support requests
• To understand how the platform is used and improve our services

That’s the whole list. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles of your activity elsewhere on the internet, and we do not share it with data brokers or marketers.

Service providers

Like most online services, we rely on a small number of providers to run the platform. They receive only the information needed to do their job, and they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Stripe — payment processing and dealer billing
• Resend — delivery of transactional email
• Our web hosting provider — where the platform and its data are hosted

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or our business.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies — the ones required to keep you signed in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Shared designs

Dealers can share a finished design with their customer using a share link. Anyone who has that link can view the shared design, so dealers should share links only with the people they intend. Dealers control whether and when a design is shared.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, you may request an export of your data and ask us to delete it by contacting us at the address below. We may retain limited records where the law requires it (for example, billing and tax records).

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and per-dealer data isolation. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect the information entrusted to us.

Children

Dovetail is a business tool for cabinet dealers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
